LA SMARRITA Holiday Home
In the Middle Ages, when the night was dark or a storm raged, the infrequent, rhythmic, and comforting tolling of a small bell, “La Smarrita,” could sometimes be heard in the distance. This was how the innkeeper would call those lost in the mists of the marsh below or in the thick woods nearby.
A skillful renovation near an old building in a small district of the old town led to the creation of “La Smarrita” and “Borgo Carradori,” holiday homes in Lucignano, with a few quaint accommodation units. (They also feature a small panoramic swimming pool, a garage, and, upon request, hotel-style services.)
